Sapphire Lending is made up of a dynamic, agile, entrepreneurial team who put relationships at the heart of lending and borrowing.
If you think it’s all about lending then think again, what it’s really about is relationships, communication and trust. Our big vision is to use business as a force for good.
At Sapphire Lending we have a purpose: It is to help stop the neglect, cruelty and extinction of animals on our planet. Sapphire Lending support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We specifically advocate goal No. 15 – Life on Land – which aims to manage forests sustainably, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation and stop biodiversity loss.
We’ve also partnered with B1G1 to help us make micro impacts every time we do business. To learn more, visit our Global Impact page.
We strive to be a nimble, lifestyle business. Our values are:
Sapphire Lending brokers deals between Lenders and Borrowers.
Lenders are people who have money sitting in their bank account and want to make it work for them. Borrowers are accomplished property developers who wish to borrow money to top up bank lending for a specific property development. We broker the deals.
We make the process simple. There is an ease of working with Sapphire Lending which brings a lightness and brightness to the often over complicated and yet serious business of finance.
We offer a one-to-one service and build trusted, life long relationships. We’ve developed and use The 5 Step Connection Method with our clients.
FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR
Sheila Holt recognises she is both an outlier and a disrupter and is fascinated by how people think. Sheila developed a coaching practice utilising NLP; helping her clients reach clarity, focus and success. During this time Sheila was also actively investing in property. The big lesson she learned from building a sizable portfolio was that; in the property industry money needs to flow.
In 2007 she loaned some of her own money to a property developer and recognising a need in the market, this was the first step to becoming what is now Sapphire Lending. The business has evolved and grown over the years and she’s in a very fortunate position of having attracted a great team, strong advisors and good systems.
Sheila holds a post-graduate degree in Careers Counselling and an MA in research and education. Sheila revels in being an entrepreneur and sees it as one of the greatest personal development journeys you can go on.
BUSINESS ADVISOR
Mark Treherne quickly realised that his ambition was to become a veterinary surgeon.
He qualified in 1981 from the Royal Veterinary College and after 3 years in Mixed Practice decided, in true entrepreneurial fashion, to set up his own Small Animal Surgery and then in 1985 started Heron Veterinary Surgery in South London. His practice soon grew to be the largest practice in the area with strong investment in the latest medical and surgical techniques and equipment.
He was one of the first veterinary surgeons in the UK to use Biometrix Hip Replacements for dogs, having previously been trained in the technique in the US. At the same time he started to build a Property Portfolio as well as a business in Property Development. Mark realised his talents lay just as much in business as in Veterinary Surgery and, having run his practice for 25 years, set out to sell Heron Veterinary Surgery to the highest bidder. He successfully achieved this in 2017.

There are many ways to broker deals and our solution is the 5 Step Connection Method which takes lenders and borrowers through a sequential process matching the needs and requirements of both sides.
The 5 steps ensure it’s the right deal, at the right time, for the right person. There has to be 100% agreement from all parties. This method leads to trusted borrowing and lending as well as engendering long-term relationships.
